thats tough, I dont eat meat either, you could tell her that you’d rather go to a place where you can eat meat free food, or just go and get any side dishes that don’t have meat. Do you eat fish or dairy or are you completely vegan?
Don’t see why this is an issue. If the person really cared about you at all, then you could just say that there’s really no options for you and you could figure out somewhere else to go. If the person actually had a problem with this, then I’d say that’s not the kind of person you want to date.
The only exception is if it is something like a birthday, in which case you **** it up and go wherever they want, and just eat the bread if that’s all you can do.
Has this really been a problem? I’ve never been in a decent restaurant that didn’t have salad and vegetable side dishes, like baked potatoes (guess you just have to ask if they use margarine or butter on the potatoes and veggies), not to mention pasta with plain marinara and rice. I’m not vegetarian or vegan, but I’ve been out numerous times when I was dieting and just got a big salad or a vegetable plate.
Say I’d love to have dinner with you, but we’ll have to find some place that we’ll both enjoy. If you really are hankering for that one place, maybe we could have dinner together another night this week instead.
And I’m going to respectfully disagree with the “there’s always something you can eat” contingency plan: I went on a road trip from Virginia to Texas once and ate Dry Baked Potato and Plain Green Salad for lunch and dinner every day. I could eat it, it kept me alive and whatnot, but it was not enjoyable nor particularly nutritious.
Well if it was me, I’d just ask if we could go to a place where there was vegan options, like P.F. Changs. If she’s really set on eating at that place, eat some vegan food beforehand then have a salad or sides of veggies at the restaurant.
well i would either say i cant eat anything there, lets think of another place OR i would just lie and tell the waiter that i have a sever allergy to milk and eggs.
Eat beforehand, then just order a salad at the restaurant. I know it’s inconvenient for you, but there are many compromises that go along with being a vegan.
If the person you are dating cares enough about you and knows you are a vegaterian then they would not suggest a resturant that where you cant find anything to eat. Besides almost all resturants have at least a salad…
If you are going to date them, then live with what they like to eat, if you are going to go out to eat then live with what is on the menu, you are the one on the crazy azz diet, the world can not be expected to bend to your will because you choose not to dine on a normal diet.

i’d just explain that i couldn’t eat anything there and ask if they would like to go to another restaurant.
i mean, it’s a good test. if they’re not going to respect my morals, then they’re probably not suitable dating material for me.

I think I would suggest another place to go… most places at least offer a salad… that always works.

I only date non-veggie heads. A lot less problems and no obsessive-compulsive, weird behaviors to deal with.
